coral + fish

coral-pre fish

Adding some depth to the underwater is challenging, but I feel it is necessary
considering this is the
"ocean"!

Chimpanzee

My Mom has saved the day once again with helping
me to better refine the chimpanzee's face. Now he looks
cute
and friendly!

Chameleon

Here's another critter! Trying to add as many different types of animals as possible - didn't have a lizard type.

Some thoughts on times past and future

I looked back at the earliest post- Early October - Is that right? Well with us being into the Year 2010 now- Wow! That puts the amount of time that has been dedicated to this first wall right at 3 months. I have had awesome volunteers throughout this project and I want to thank each and everyone of them! For the past few weeks it has been only me trying to work diligently enough to see this wall be made a reality.
Not just for the closure, but also so that the next wall - "The Underwater Wall" can be started on as well. I do feel like I did receive a break so that I am feeling fresh and ambitious as ever with the time that I took off for Holiday festivities to undergo Wall #2! Wish me the best of luck in getting this next phase up and running! (right after the Rain Forest is officially finished of course!!)

The butterfly at last!

Another detail gone back and completed!!

Macaw #2

So the initial Macaw was painted over a month ago and the lengthy wall took over what was being concentrated on- which was primarily "getting down to the end of the rain forest
wall".

Now with the end in sight I am able to return to complete some of the unfinishe3d pieces of the Rain Forest- YEAH!!

new color

Notice the change of color in the stands. Dan had brought it to my attention that the Texas Motor Speedway's colors were not what I had originally applied to the wall, so with a few adjustments the wall is finished!

The finished logo text

This lettering was done by ordering
vinyl letters from "the sign guy"
and then rubbing off the letters in the space that was left
for the text to be added. This was done to ensure that
the logo had a graphic feel- considering the generous donation made
to the center by speedway children's charities.
